Digital voice and 'multi-call'

No
We are now on Digital Voice and have two connected phones via individual 'home phone adaptors' (that convert an old style Analogue Voice phone to a DV phone) supplied by EE.

A couple of days ago my OH was leaving a message on her sister's voicemail and, at the time, bizarrely the other phone started ringing........it was her phoning back!

Now, though I saw 'multi-call' in the list of services with EE I did not give it much thought. But can see the potential usage (as needed) to have, in effect, two lines.

NB when I googled about it, I noted some folks spoke about disabling it ........with EE that function is not available to the user but seemingly if a BT customer it is a user changeable setting.

For me/us it is just another function available.

PS the one thing I think I would like to add is USP backup for the router (and some other units e.g. the pc and monitor) to ensure we still have a 'landline' in the event of a power cut.

I've installed a UPS in my office which supplies the modem, router and one of the laptop chargers, it has come in very useful frequently with short or sometimes longer power interruptions. I think I paid about £230 to get around 48 hours of juice at the drain rate of those items. Money well spent and recommended.

Thanks for that insight and would ideally be a minimum of 48hours I would wish to 'cover'.

If you can tell me, I would welcome knowing the make & model/version number of the UPS?

TIA :)

FWIW my UPS is by APC and working well for a couple of years no problems. They make various sizes depending on what you need.

The one I bought was this one from CPC (Farnell). £180 inc vat. I guess how long it lasts is dependent on what it's powering, but it seems to fit my needs.
