I currently have an eos 50d that I've owned for about 2 years and I have the chance to trade it in for an eos1d mk11 second hand for a good price, not sure how many shutter actuations the 1d has but I was just wondering if I would get much benefit by doing the deal,I mainly shoot Motorsports and I dont know whether its me or the camera focusing system not being quick enough but I find I quite often get oof shots.

What lenses have you got ? - remember the 1D series don't take EFS or DC lenses.

the other point to be aware of it making sure you get a battery charger with the 1D as they arent cheap.

Plus have you ever actually handled a 1D - they are big and heavy and not to everyones liking !

Also keep in mind 1.3 crop v 1.6 on your 50d. I'd assume the 1d will have superior focusing - I've not used one but I think there is a slightly different two button process - I may be wrong but worth checking.

May be not - a comparable itteration of the !d would have better focussing, but the 1Dmk2 will be running Digic2 (same as is found in the 20/30D ) , a 50D runs ( ithink) Digic 4

the 1d2 is still a very good camera , but i wouldnt automatically assume it will be better than a 50D in all areas.

TBH if you are frequently getting oof shots of moving targets i'd suspect the problem might be with your technique so changing your camera might not help
