This is one of my better shots and I thought I could use some feedback.

I tried to focus on the eyes in the middle of the day in direct sun, are the shadows too much?

A touch of fill in flash would have lifted the shadows and added catchlights to the eyes. Also a smaller aperture would have blurred the background more.
