Went to Disney's Main Street Electrical Parade at Magic Kingdom a couple of years ago. Tried to take pics with my Canon G9 and it was a disaster. My shutter sppeds were too slow resulting in blurry pics. When I increase the ISO, the pics were far too grainy.
This time I am taking my 60d with a range of lenses. Can anyone advise what would be the best apeture and shutter speeds to get nice sharp images. Also, what metering mode should I use? I will probably have a tripod or monopod with me as well.

iso 400 f/4 gave me 1/60th of a second when I shot a night parade in 2009 not really fast enough but worked just about. Back when I didn't really have a clue, now I would be looking at manual bump the iso up and get a higher shutter. If you use auto or semi auto because things are so black the exposure can go a little haywire and end up with slower shutter speeds.

I was there the other week but no night parade but did get the fireworks and wished I had taken the gorilla pod in with me.

Well I have my 24-70mm f2.8L, or nifty fifty, or 30mm f1.4, maybe one of there will give me a fast enough shutter speed.

our trip wasnt planned or we would have checked for the night parade, decided at about 1pm the day before when we were up in south carolina in Myrtle beach it reminded us so much of parts of florida so we told the sat nav to take us to down town disney and found a hotel for 3 nights 5 theme parks in 2 days only possible end of september/october as the parks are very quiet.
