i am interested in making myself a pano head. been looking at websites on how to make one. has anybody made one them selves and got any tips. Also is there anyting major in need to get right when making it e.g camera position.:thinking:

Haven’t done it but it shouldn’t be too tricky if you’re handy with a lathe & if you are, your general engineering knowledge should be all you need. Just think about balance and c of g of the tripod and you will be fine.
 
You also need to rotate the camera around the optical centre of the lens, not the point where the tripod mount is located.

This is usually around the position of the aperture blades.

YER have been reading about that. it will take a lot of time to work it out. have found some useful websites which tell you the points for different lenses.
