DIY photographic equipment

Oh b****r!
Anybody got a theodolite they don't want? I'm going to make..... well probably a theodolite if my track record is anything to go by ;)
Wayne

Glad you saw the humour Wayne, and it gave somebody a laugh Sunday night.

I have a wooden version in the garage, used for a level (bit less complicated than a theodolite) if I ever fancy converting it I shall look up your post

Here's my home-made shutter release for my 400d:

It's just a toggle switch and two momentary switches wired to a 2.5mm stereo jack. It looks crude but it does everything it's meant to!

The green button focuses, red button releases the shutter, and the switch locks the shutter in bulb mode.

As used by Taliban and Fred Dibner?

I love this thread. Thanks Onform for starting it.
As mentioned in the previous thread i made some honeycomb snoots out of cereal packets and straws (like most people have that read strobist.com).

Today i got my camera back from repair and couldn't wait to try them out.
I hate photos of myself but had no-one else to photograph so i appologise, but this is the result

430EXII with Lee Lavender gel fired through snoot at a white wall camera right.
Cactus KF36 (bare) with snoot fired at face camera left.

Sort of a DIY tip, I lost one of the rubber feet from my old round leg Manfrotto 055CB Tripod.
Got some rather fine new ones that are sold as walking stick ends in my local hardware shop (perfect fit too) for the grand sum of £1.05 for all three:thumbs:

Still got two of the old ones if anyone wants then :)
