So I was curious and maybe there will be some cool ideas come out. But what DIY camera equipment (/cameras) have people made?

My only experience at DIY was making a pinhole camera in school.

But yeah, anything you've jury rigged your particularly proud of?

Custom shaped Bokeh filter things are quick and easy, and can give cracking results.

I laminated a piece of white paper to use as a WB card too! Quite the inventor I can be.

I made a grid snoot for my flash with some card and a big handful of black straws I 'borrowed' from the cafe at the local farming museum. Also cut the end of a big plastic milk bottle so it would fit on my flash gun as a large diffuser. Both of them worked suprisingly well. :)

Built my first enlarger from instructions in a library book.

After tips on here, a flash diffuser from a carex saop bottle.
I have extended a PC sync cable.
Have way through a beauty dish, out of a £1.50 silver bowl from asda.
Old duvet cover for a hi key background.
Cheap shower curtain as diffuser/reflector
I have a welding glass, but need to fix it to a filter to make an ND

Sound activated flash trigger for those bursting baloon shots :D
Got a link to a circuit for this? I've been meaning to build one of these! :)

Let's see... a shutter speed tester for film cameras I built works well. Also I modified some old strobes so that they had full manual power control.

Im very pleased with this Gimble Head in fact i will soon be offering them for sale, i came up with the idea quite a while ago but the prototype's although fully working did not have the right look .
These in the photos are powder coated and are for the super telephotos with cameras like the mk3.
one pic shows the 500f4isL +1.4tc and mk3 on it.
i also make one for lenses like the 300f 2.8 it looks the same as these but uses thinner metal .

I made myself an external battery pack for all of my speedlites :)
Means I get around 900 shots per charge and not have to worry about carrying millions of AA batteries around.

Just google, Flashgun(make of choice) DIY SLA Battery

Sixtoes, and Speeding Panther

If you build one forget the light trigger part, just build the sound trigger.

Not all flashes work with it. I ended up with an old Hanimex flash of ebay for £2.50.

Thanks Chris, will do.

I like the DIY flash shoe, I'd never have thought of that but it looks pretty easy to build. I'd have butchered a cable or something.

Your boards are a lot neater than mine by the way! :)
