Do Canon charge for???

Hi Guys,

I've only ever had to send gear across for 'under warranty' repairs in the past.
Does anybody know if they charge for out of warranty quotes?

I'm pretty sure they charge you an inspection/evaluation fee though not certain. I'm sure someone will be along to clear that up.

What issue do you have?

It's a err99 fault on a 350D. I know in the past I have sent lenses to ACS and Colchester and had free diagnosis.

Ah right, I've only ever used Canon Elstree (once) and I was sure that they charged but I may be wrong. They were very efficient I know that, though with the big 'O' just around the corner they may be pretty busy.
 
Ah, I'll have to drop them a line I guess!

If anybody knows for sure, it would be most appreciated!
 
I'm pretty sure Canon @ Elstree don't charge for an estimate, obviously you have carriage costs (both ways I think) if you don't decide to go ahead with the repair - best bet is to e-mail them or give them a bell tomorrow morning and see what they say...
