Do I go for the lenses or 5D mkII

I am not sure which way to go and like any advice or thoughts

I have a canon 50d and 7d ,lenses 24-105 f4L 70-200 F4 L 50 f1.4 sigma 17-55 f2.8 I am in my final year of my HND Photography. I have done a couple of wedding on my own and many as a second photographer, so hoping when I have finished my HND this is the way I may go

I am was either going to buy a canon 5d Mk II or a fisheye f2.8 and a 70-200 F2.8 maybe canon or sigma

what would help me meow the 5d mkII or the lenses

Your in a catch 22 to be honest, you have a good set of lenses at the moment. I would personally go for the Camera body, and with any change, get a new lens.

Whats your budget?
 
If it was my decision then I'd go for the 5D Mk II, as, in the Canon range, it is the wedding camera of choice.
 
If you are serious about becoming a wedding photographer then you will ultimately need the camera body and additional lenses as well. As you already have a 70-200mm then upgrading to the f2.8 would be nice but not essential and for weddign photography I don't really see the need to have a fisheye lens so I'd go for the new body and add the lenses when you can afford to.
 
Sell the 50D and 17 - 55 then buy a 5DII and a fast wideish prime?
 
I would definitely get rid of the 50d and the 17-55, buy the 5Dmk 2 and be happy!

I have worked with a couple of wedding photographers who both used a fisheye at weddings for some interior shots of the church or reception, group shots of the groom and friends thats why I was going for the same.

I was going to sell my 50d in the end, if I got a another body i.e. the 5D MK11 but I would still keep the sigma 17-55 its a nice lens and will be ok on the 7d which would become my second body

My 7d was not to bad at high iso but guess not as good as a 5D mk11
the shots I did struggle with was low light shots in church, When I used a tripod it was better but one of the wedding photographers does not use a tripod and another does, both use a 5d mkII 70 - 200 2.8L

I was just not sure if I would do better with the faster glass then my 70-200 F4 or just go for the camera that handles the iso better and stay with my f4 until I can afford more glass.
 
Lenses, every time for long term gain. Bodies get changed on a very regular basis...how many 5series now? How many 1D series? I have lost count and can't keep up with the mks either....lenses remain constant.

Personally i don't see ANYTHING wrong with the lenses you have got at the moment. They will all produce good photographic renditions, it is YOUR input that makes a picture good, not the lens and certainly not the body. Some bits of kt allow you more options when shooting - that is a completely different thing!

Your 70-200 f4 is a great lens. The 24-105 is perfect on camera lens for wedding use - covers 80% of the pictures. The 17-55 is duplicated for more than 50% of its coverage by the 24-105.

Think about lenss this way, especially if you are going professional. WILL IT EARN YOU ANY MORE MONEY, if the answer is some, then ask another question, HOW MUCH...if you will earn more work than the lens costs and you need that lens to get the work, then it is a viable purchase, if not....make do with what you have and get round it another way by changing angle or perspective or something. GET A SHOT WITH WHAT YOU HAVE, don't lament the shot you can't get...the client won't know you didn't get it! They will only look at what you have provided.

Put your efforts into getting work in, not spending it out on kit that won't get you any more work (just feed your fetish for gear!) Trust me, I have been there. That is why I have that golden rule...WILL I GET MORE WORK WITH IT? I would love a 35mm f1.4....but I won't get any more work. i will do the same work with a new lens. That doesn't pay for it, it just feeds my desire. the answer (in my case) is not to buy the 35mm lens, but to change the desire! Even though I have the money in the bank. I have a 35mm in the 24-70 (OK f2.8, so what, it still does nice pictures!)

What I was trying figure out what would give me better quality photograph's in the church and not so much noise. I have a good tripod and a canon 580 ex II & 430 EX II flash, so was unsure to go for the better body i.e. the 5d mkII
or a get the faster lenses I don't want to go and and spend money, but I see the results of the photographers, I am working with, that are shooting at 2500 and 3200 iso which I can't go that high on the 7d and get good photographs without to much noise and if I come lower I have the risk of camera shake as either I am not at a faster enough speed or the bride and groom move and this is why I was looking into the options of lenses or camera, the fisheye was just because it seemed in vogue with some of the photographers round here and the images looked good with it.

I got my canon 5d mk II today. I'm happy but it looks a little dated to my 7D
and guess some of the 7D option will be on the next 5D mk ?
proof will be in the photos next on the list 70-200 f2.8
