Do I have a sensor problem?

If anyone would be so kind and have a look at this thread http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=415433 and tell me what they think and offer any ideas on how i can sort it out, or a check i can do.

Hi Terri,
There are a few questions for you:
1. Does this cast appear on all your photos and with all your lenses?
2. Are you using a filter?
3. What white balance setting are you using

1. yes if set to "m" in auto it seems ok
2. no filter
3. Cloudy iso 200

In the other thread someone mentioned that it could be a sensor issue so out of interest I Googled "D90 color/coulor cast" and "D90 purple color/colour cast" but found nothing obvious.

Maybe the poster who posted in the other thread could expand on why they think it's a sensor issue?

Otherwise, I'd suspect it's just a trick of the light / WB issue.

Try some shots on Auto W/B,and see what happen,also just check to see if when your on man W/B,that you havnt made any shifts in the menu setting

Ah. Didn't see this when I posted.

I'm not a Nikon shooter so "set to "m" in auto" baffles me slightly but I assume it's a WB / Nikon colour rendering issue.

Have you tried resetting the D90? (Pressing both green buttons at the same time.)

This took about 10 seconds in PS, not perfect but less purple...

Unless anyone comes up with something more substantial I think it's a WB issue rather than a fault, uness someone knows different...

Also were you shooting in raw or j-peg
