Hi ,
I'm still a relative amateur , just moved up to Canon 1D mark2 . Steep learning curve ahead .
I have a sigma 28-70 2.8 but for landscape etc this is often hardly wide enough on my 10d.
Now the question is will the difference on the 1d 1.3 sensor be enough or am I better going to wide angle lens ?
I have been thinking of canon 24mm prime , canon 16-35 prob to pricey , and canon 20-35mm
Anybody any views on these lenses ?
Thanks
david

The MK2 body you have there once proudly had a 24mm f1.4 attached to it David, wow what a lens. If you can fund a canon L lens they are remarkable

The canon 17-40 and 1DII make a pretty nice couple too. There are some elderly but perfectly good examples around that aren't too pricey.

Agreed with that!!! I use mine on a 5D (Full-Frame) but on a 1.3 it's still going to be wide. I got mine for £365 it's one of the cheapest (if not THE cheapest) L series lens

the 24-105mm L is a useful range and an excellent lens

Thanks for all the replies , I think the wait and see if I need it option is probably the best.... but thats not the answer someone developing a lens addiction wants to hear . A bit like telling an alcoholic wait and see if you get thirsty:)
Ideally I should watch and wait for the 17-40.

Stew I dont see the wife agreeing to that sort of money being spent on a lens , but then again I could just hide the credit card statement:thumbs:
