Yes
I'm going away for a month and will be alternating between a week in the wilderness (working for a lot of it) and couple of days in/next to a house. Now at the moment I have two high capacity batteries for my 400D which usually last me 3-4 days of reasonable use when I'm walking. I have this worrying feeling i'm going to run out though...

How many do you take away with you?...

Two D3 bodies and three batteries for each.
If I take the D3x as well, then another two batteries...

Since getting the EN-EL4a batteries, I've never needed more than one change when out on a job, no matter how long it lasted. I think one lasted about three weeks once...
Old habits die hard though...

For my 450D i would just have 3 batts, going to look into another few though.
They can last quite a long while especially when using a batt grip :), double power hehe.

Yup extra power is brilliant. :D

Mine are 1700mAh each so about 2.5x the standard battery (which went in the washing machine...), unfortunately I can't get hold of any more and am a bit wary about just buying any old ones off the bay. 7dayshop do compatibles as well but their twin battery pack would still be less power than a single one of my batteries (2x 700mAh) so...

I also pack AA Batteries for backups too, some for the flash guns if used :)

I once took over 5000 pictures on one battery with my 450D, without draining the battery. Since I upgraded to the 550D, I've taken over 4400 pictures on a single battery. These things last.

They won't last forever, though. My advice - in any circumstances - is to always have at least one spare in your pocket.
