Yes
If I use Flashpoint R2 Pro MarkII, X1R-N, do I still need to purchase a Flashpoint Explorer 600Pro TTL mono light? Can I just purchase the non-TTL and I’ll work with my existing equipment?

You won’t ‘need’ one. Unless of course you want to use TTL. I have an AD600M and don’t miss TTL, it depends what you are shooting I guess.

Agree with Rick, it really depends what you are shooting. Using manual gives you better control if it is being used in studio.

Thank you for the responses. I’m a hobbyist so I am not what I will be doing.

TTL is easier, manual is what you will probably want to do at some point. If you can afford the TTL version then you can choose when to use TTL or manual,

TTL flash is invaluable on the move.

in a fixed environment- manual flash is ‘easier’ even using speedlights.

TTL can change the exposure subtly shot to shot, and no one wants to spend time editing to straighten that up.
