Hi all

I've picked up a new Metz Mecalight LED-160 today.

It works perfectly using batteries and I'm quite impressed with it, but I can't get it working with a DC adapter.

I went to Maplin and tried a few adapters and nothing happened (checking polarity / voltage etc). If I leave the adapter switched on and pull the plug out of the 160 and put it back in I get a quick flash of light, but that's it!

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Phil

I'm not sure you'll get decent image stabilisation in less than say a XF300. Lens based stabilisers are great to remove camera shake but you'd need full 2 axis control.

What?????

I wonder if the problem is with the unit itself. The problem may be that the mains adapter socket is faulty. Usually these isolate the batteries when the external power is applied, and only the mains adapter power is used. The flash may simply be the switch is making partial contact when the plug is removed.
