Does anyone recognise this London doorway?

Yes
I inherited hundeds of photos that may father took, many in the 1960's and 70's.
I've been going through them and scanning some of the more interesting ones.
There are quite a few taken around London, many at night. Some locations I can recognise but others I cannot.

I have this night shot of a quite elaborate entrance doorway, but I have no idea where it is.
Can anyone recognise this place?

From other shots on the same film, it may be located somewhere along the Victoria Embankment, possibly in the Waterloo bridge area.
I'm guessing that, wherever it is, it doesn't look much different today.

Have you tried a Google image search to see if something similar pops up?

I'm not sure how to search for an image?

Thanks very much for that link - I had no idea such a search facility was available.
I'll give it a try with my doorway image.

BTW - The Google introductory video must have the most annoying background music ever.

Cheers,
Brian

Well the Google image search was useless.

However, with a little more detective work, based on the coat of arms, which was identified as that of the City of London, I found the location.

It's the Central Criminal Court, better known as the Old Bailey.
