Does iPlayer work on your ps3?

Yes
I've had a ps3 for a few years and have had iplayer for over a year (at least). I have just purchased a ps3 on behalf of my parents only to find there is no I player and it will get it in the future.

Anyone else have this problem?

It doesn't work in the browser either apparently.

Mine use to have iplayer (though I never used it) until the latest firmware update when it disappeared, together with 4 on demand and all the others. Strange but doesn't bother me as I never used them ( too slow Internet connection)

The new firmware update has caused huge problems with iPlayer (and 4OD etc) it would seem.

There are various methods as to how to get it to show again, including visiting the PS Store or online services from within a game. I downloaded the music software (didn't actually activate it though) which then generated the usual option in the main menu for TV.

Even with the latest firmware I still have iPlayer/4od etc.
The app initially were removed (previous firmware version) but there is the my channels option under TV/Video services. all the install options are in there.

I read it on another forum, you have to install and log in to Playstation Home. Sure enough, logged in, created a character etc. came out and My channels was now listed and I installed the iPlayer app.

The new PS slim is silent compared to my classic PS3.

A second one may be purchased for the bedroom, will test it out playing discs first.

Yes, but that isn't 'standard' for want of a better word unfortunately.

For many, the 'TV' sub-menu disappears altogether, so you need to attach to the servers for it to reappear again and then you can download the relevant channels in to the 'My Channels' section.
