Does shooting in raw still apply noise reduction?

Just a quicky. I have the NEX7 & was just wondering if any or all cameras apply noise reduction when shooting in RAW?

Thanks

RAW is designed to be the raw data straight from the sensor. The image editing software will normally have some defaults it will apply.

As said, the camera shouldn't apply anything to the image. However, As soon as you open that file in editing software certain things will be applied as the software has profiles for different cameras. You can create your own profile but that requires a colour checker.

But really, the things added are negligible.

Though apparently the Canon 5D Mk III applies some on-chip noise reduction routines within the sensor itself, prior to generating the RAW file output.
