Yes
Yesterday I wanted to grab the DSRL and a short, prime lens and chuck it in my work bag. Didn't want one of the three varying-sized proper camera bags.

What would have been ideal is a padded sock or sleeve type arrangement. not as substantial as a padded bag but better than floating around in my work bag. Something that would accommodate a body with one lens, which might be a stubby prime or something longer.

Does it exist? I have googled a few options but came up with nothing.

Nice idea but ideally I was thinking of something with slightly less fluff.

You mean something like this....?

Loads of places, including Amazon and Ebay. The ones shown are by Optech, but you can get cheaper Chinese copies too.

Cheers. Found a few on Amazon once I knew what I was looking for.

These look very similar to the cases that used to come with SLRs, the main part screwed onto the body via the tripod bush, and the top/front unsnapped and swung open. They worked well if you only wanted to carry the body and one lens.

Quality kitchen taps come in a small cloth sack with a drawstring (I guess to keep the chrome from getting scratched?), perfect for holding a camera and lens or a flash or whatever. I make a habit of keeping any of them I come across for this purpose (when I don't want to take all my gear).

My wife's shoes come in these soft velvety bags. So I have a lot more of them than I need! :bonk:
