Cheers, they all seem to be copies or non-UK. Have found a couple of places that do them now though. Will make some calls tomorrow and see if anybody actually has one on stock.

Needed a lens hood for a used lens I picked up recently and didn't want to pay £42 for a Canon one but found the same hood on Amazon (used but in mint condition) for less than half the normal price. Ordered it Tues, it arrived about 10 mins ago. Very happy.

Given that I still haven't found anywhere that actually keeps genuine Nikon hoods as physical stock, maybe my question wasn't so stupid after all.
Thanks too for your patronising piece of advice. When I make it to the dizzy heights of 'serious pro' I'll take that on board.
While we're doing advice, the use of the word 'simples' only serves to make one look, well, simple.
wow what a seriously stupid attitude there was no need for that these forums are not just here for the hard questions this question may benifit others who may not have one or have lost theres hell it may even prevent people from losing theres

Just ordered it. I'd been hesitant about that one as it didn't look quite right in the photos. Seem to recall, it should have flats on that I can't see.
Anyway, it claims to be genuine and is the correct part number so I've taken a punt and ordered it.
