DOT-tune

just tried it on my Nikon 105mm f2.8VR micro

results - focus confirm at +3 right thru to -20

flickered after +3 and could not go past -20

settings a f2.8 and 105 x50 = 5.25 mtrs - then tried it at closer focus distance and same results

blown ups of chart show sharpe at 0 and +11, (half range of +3 to -20)

will have a go with FoCal tomorrow and see what that sets the value at, (it does it semi-automatically)

any comments - are micro lens different in any way

will try a few "real" shots at -11 and see what they look like

I've never got on with DOT tune. Found it time consuming so went back to my DIY set up. Wouldn't mind trying Focal though but not enough to buy it.

Why would you be bothered about auto focus accuracy on a macro lens

I didn't get on with DOT tune either in all honesty. Tried it once with one lens. I find my half arsed own way pretty damn accurate really.
