I know cameras are largely stuck in the stone age when it comes to device compatibility but surely this is by now possible. to transfer your pics straight onto a usb stick or is it another 10 year wait before usb stick technology occurs to camera manufacturers:cuckoo:

is it possible?:p

Not sure why you'd want to do this?

Just get yourself a USB card reader, and you've achieved the same result.

Is there a particular reason you'd like a camera to save/transfer to a USB stick rather than a memory card?

A.

Yep, it is possible (and has been for some time now) with the Canon 1D series.

With the WFT-E2 which has a usb port you can insert a usb stick in said port and store images as they are taken on the usb stick!

Alternatively you can plug in an external drive via the usb port and write image files directly to the drive as they are taken.

backup on the fly mate, 16gb usb stick in camera bag, wack it in side of camera in a lull in the action and back everything up, small and convenient.
