Thank you Lindsay, looking forward to seeing everyone's entries again this year.
Please could you remind me, is there somewhere we can sign up for this or is it a case of posting an image? Sorry, have forgotten how I entered last year lol
 
@Stardust It's not necessary to sign up for the DPOTY. You just take and post an image in the current month's Images thread.
 
No worries.

I am going to try and get a bit more organised this year, so that I do less panicking at 11pm on the last day of the month. I was disappointed in myself for not getting all 12 subjects done last year.
 
My 'Patterns' entry is in. I was asked to take some photographs with my drone of a local farm bringing in the sugar beet. The image is an aerial of the left behind tractor trails.
 
Looking forward to this very much, this and the weekly challenge has been great at getting me out, even on a dull day. January is a tough month for photography - when I look over my entire collection, Jan and Feb are my quietest months - a combination of the weather, and the short days - it makes going out to travel anywhere pretty tricky.... not to wish time away, but March and those lovely little flowers and some green popping up everywhere cant' come soon enough!

My wife needed a hobby after giving up owning horses. So she started making clothes. She's now progressed to making handbags and purses.

At the last minute I took some images this morning, but I've just imported and tried editing them, and they are a big fail! Shame, but I might still re=take the shots as the idea was sound, it just needs more time and care with setup.
So, I'll add the poll in the morning. A few hours left for entries though...
 
My only pattern for this month has been working - I'm just finishing up now. I have barely taken any photographs this month.

All: anyone can join in at any time during the year - the league table is just a bit of fun, and in fact some of the top scorers last year only started well into the year.
 
Thanks Rich - I've clearly been a double eeejit first 26th then 31st! Corrected the original post now to the 28th. Hopefully you'll manage an entry in the next 11 days - there's plenty of weather about!

Already got my Snow from the Atomium photo in for the February round
It was the March one that might have been a close call if it closed before the 31st
 
I went out today for the afternoon dog walk, with a camera despite the 60mph winds and heavy rainout it was hard enough staying upright and relatively dry inside my waterprrofs, no way could I take photographs. I had a definite shot in mind, but I too had the grey card vista in any case.
 
lot's of fog so far, mine included which was taken at new year. this year it looks like my availability to participate is going to be patchy.
 
I struggled to process the raindrops out of my image before posting yesterday. Am I allowed to replace my entry, having figured out how to do it better?

@wornish yes you can replace the image if it's the same one reprocessed
 
I thought my entry yesterday might have been the last, but there was a real flurry of late submissions, including one that scraped in by 11 minutes! It's good to have a nice selection to vote on this month.
 
11 minutes used to be early for my essay submissions :LOL: sorry for the last min, I only realised it was the last day after turning the computer off!
 
Congratulations to the three equal winners in February. What a start to the year this is proving to be. Clearly Ryan is the one to beat again though! League table :

In a good way @RyanB - you sem to set a high standard technically and creatively, which is great, it makes the rest of us try harder (when time permits).
