DPOTY26 - Chat thread

You're spot on Tim, what I like is that this teaches those sort of lessons, and to look at all the winners/runners up to see what made them achieve, and learn from that too

And for me also to learn from the ones that have bombed!

Well done Tim ;)

Great pic again Tim!
(I think Tim is also missing a vote/point from our tie in April, just to make it harder to catch up ;))

I'll check the scores and update the table as necessary
Thanks Megan - Tim wasn't the only one with an uncounted vote. It was joint winner in April, and here's the updated year table:

I'm sorry about Loki, Toni.

Thanks Kerry, but he was my neighbour's dog. They asked if I could pop round and take some pictures earlier that morning because he was off to be put down later that day. I remember him arriving all full of energy, but at the end he was an old dog, in pain and no longer strong, and it shows in his expression. I used this picture because it's more of a portrait that looks inside even while the humans are doing the 'looking happy' thing.

Well done Megan @cptnm for a solid winner in July. Also maintaining and improving your lead on the year's league table. Consistency and some stand-out images are clearly the key to this exercise! Some great competition though, especially from an occasional contributor @Gav. .

Thank you! I think Charlie will get a few well deserved extra biscuits tonight. Always nice to see everyone's pics, it was a great theme!
Congratulations Megan, I hope Charlie enjoyed his extra biscuits :)

I struggled too - with the theme and with being away with work. I looked to see if there was anything about using a phone image. Apologies if I missed it but please let me know and I’ll remove it. I wanted to be consistent and put in a post for August:)

I'm sure a phone image is fine.

A phone camera is still a camera. I've had to resort to mine from time to time - the old adage about the best camera being the one you have with you at the time.

Sorry, I forgot to add info to the image entry, mine was St Mary's Church tower in Weeting, sorry for the drop and run :)

Congratulations @cuthbert for a good winning submission in August. Lots of good competition though. Here's the annual table updated:

Thank you for the kind words everyone, can't take much of the credit , the real star being 'Pippin' - you'll be pleased to know she was rewarded with a lovely pork pie and big bone for being so wonderfully well behaved whilst she had her photo done!

I thought this theme was really really hard, I had the idea for the dog picture ages ago (I was determined that domesticated animal be human and respectable be an animal) but just ran out of time to do it, you'll note from the exif that the picture was taken on the 31st Aug, cutting it very fine. In case you're curious about the breed - she's a labradoodle - a genuinely beautiful dog with such a gentle temperament, got two of them. both seem to have the defective Labrador 'never full' gene!!

Had I not managed to get this one, I was going to enter one of those below

Thank you again for your nice words!
