Hi all.

How do you get your LR flash galleries into dreamweaver?

I have tried inserting the index file that LR creates for the gallery but when i load it up in my browser i just get the loading icon:shrug:

I think you need to move the whole folder structure into Dreamweaver. Although I just normally strip out the Flash from the Lightroom Gallery and put it into a custom HTML file, rather than modifying the Lightroom one.

Thanks for the help, probally going to sound stupid but how would i go about doing that?

When you save the LR gallery it creates a folder with everything in it on the desktop (or wherever you save it). Simply drag this folder into the folder on your computer which contains your website.

In Dreamweaver create a link to the file called index in the LR Gallery folder. Then upload it to your server.

Posted this from memory as I'm at work so please feel free to correct me :)
 
When you export the web gallery from LR it is all in a folder, you need to have that folder withing the "Sites" structure in Dreamweaver.

I'm also having to go from memory as I don't have LR at work or Dreamweaver at home.
 
one more question, i can get the gallery to show up if i link to it but how do i go about getting to show up on the home page?

All the gallery files and folders are are stored in the site root folder.

When in Dreamweaver, drag the gallery's "index" file into the root folder of your website. Dreamweaver should automatically update any links I think, but either way, you will either have to make sure the gallery's index file is in your root directory; ie where your current homepage "index" file is, or setup a redirect in your server's control panel....or integrate the gallery into your homepage somehow! lol

Thanks, the index file is in the root folder but when i try and get it to show on my homepage i just get the swirly loading icon.

I shouldn't really be playing with dreamweaver as i have no experience with web bilding etc.

Sounds like (but not 100% sure) it's not liking being outside of it's original folder where all the data is - in other words it's not linking up correctly from the original linking created by LR2.

In this case your easiest option would be to simply create a redirect in your control panel that comes with your hosting from your home page to the folder where the gallery index file is in.

Or, in my limited web design experience, I'd create a simple flash file that automatically redirects to the gallery and place this flash file in my root index page. Kinda how you can tell a flash intro to redirect to your main site after the intro has finished.

Or just create a basic entrance page with a link to go to gallery?

There could be easier ways of doing this (scripts or something?) but I'm afraid I don't know enough about coding to help.
