I've been looking for awhile to get some sort of storage solution incase everything goes bad, and ideally i like one that i can share over my network. I had been looking at a Qnap 2 drive mirrored solution purely due to cost, ebuyer have a 4 bay Drobo with Drobo Share for £399 which will hopefully mean that 4 drives are better than 2 and i can build up the storage capacities (a) when i can afford it and (b) when i need it.
But my question is witht the Drobo and Drobo share how can the network work at 1 Gbps when the Drobo share is connected via usb 2 which runs at 480 mbps?
Does any one have any experience of this solution, and what are the access speeds like?
I'm open to other suggestions of comparable solutions for the same money or less.
Thanks
Kev
