Yes
My D60 got dropped yesterday:eek:, the cameras fine but
the 18-55 lens became detached and there is a tiny sliver
of plastic that has come away from lens where it attaches
to the camera, If I hold the lens in it still works but it no
longer stays in on its own, will this be easily repaired or
being as this is a relatively cheap lens would I be better
of replacing??

Obviously the lens got dropped in the house and is therefore covered by your house contents insurance ......

Can you buy the part that mounts onto the camera it
seems to be attached with 3 tiny screws:(

look think about it, its only a kit lens, if you really want another one then look on ebay and there like £50, if i was you i would get a 50mm f1.8 for less than £100 and save up for an 18-70mm f3.5-4.5.

I know it is just a kit lens but I hate the thought of just
throwing it away, it works fine if I hold it in place and if
its just a case of a new camera mount I would prefer to
fix it. and carry on saving for a 105 macro lens

contact nikon see if you can buy just the bit thats broken.....

The 18-55 is not supposed to be able to work with the D60 without modifying the mount so if you buy a new mount it won't work unless you cut it and make it shorter.

Superglue? Epoxy might do the trick. And get that other lens eventually ;)
