Dry bags

I am off on holiday in three weeks and I'm wanting to buy a dry bag for keeping my D40, spare lens and a couple of phones in, as well as other various bits n' bobs. It'll never be submerged (hopefully) but we'll be spending a fair bit of time in and around the water so I just want to take this extra precaution against stuff getting damaged.

What dry bags would people recommend? I'm not looking for 100% protection because, like I said, the chances are it won't see more than a few splashes. Are the bags at Overboard.co.uk as good value as I'll get? LOMO bags from EWetsuits.com seem quite reasonable too.

Also, what sort of capacity will I need for the aforementioned equipment?

I'm an angling photographer so spend 100% of my time round water and TBH, if you're going to get your gear wet you'll do it when you least expect it :D

I use several different methods: a very large stacka box with a clip-on lid, which I can put my rucksack into for rough seas; one of those roll-top waterproof bags for when I need total waterpoofing but still need a bit of mobility (such as as on smaller boats on trout reservoirs); or the best of all for general wet conditions, a blue IKEA bag that sits a rucksack in nicely but still allows me access to everything.

Those roll-top bags are a bit of a squeeze but are good but the IKEA solution suits me best most times because of access. The rucksacks on overboard look good.

TBH, when you're that close to water though the best option is always a waterproof rucksack like one of those smaller Dryzone ones from Lowepro. No matter how careful you are, taking a bag in and out of another waterproof one will never see you fully safe. The only reason I don't have a Dryzone is that the 300 version isn't big enough for al my kit (plus my work are too tight to shell out on one for me)...

I use Exped dry bags. Just don't put them near anything too sharp!
I've also just bought an Alpkit Gourdon - a dry rucksac - for my trip to Glasto; cheap but very cheerful, especially in Jaffa! I bought the 20 litre version which is perfect for my D90, 2 lenses plus "stuff".

Good advice and info from Specialman.

I am a kayaker and have used dry bags for years - they are very effective, even if totally immersed.

The links provided by Specialman show suitable gear but here's another link which may help.
