Just wandered upon this app DSLR camera remote Professional Edition, for the Iphone, allowing you to control your camera connected to a wifi enables computer.

Has anyone tried it yet?

you dont, you connect your dslr to your computer/laptop (a long usb cable is really usefull here), you then, can control it with your iphone through the wifi. ive had my laptop in my dining room where i cant see the garden, camera on a tripod in the garden focused on a birdfeeder only about a meter away (way closer than i could stand to it without scaring off the birds) and had the two connected with a large usb. i could then go to my bedroom where i could see the garden from my window, see when a bird was at the feeder, use the live view through the iphone so i could wait for the perfect composure, and then take the picture in any number of ways with the phone, change any settings that need changing including aperture, shutter, iso, wb, exposure compensation, etc, and also shoot single frame, continuos, or even time lapse.

I've just purchased it and it is an excellent bit of kit. I just need to try using the auto-import in Lightroom to review the shots directly.

At the moment I'm using Bridge to view the shots, but they need to be clicked on to activate which is a bit of a pain.

Well worth the £11.99 price tag if you want to shoot tethered and remotely! :)

Very easy to get lightroom to review them instantly.

Go onto Lightroom and click File -> Auto Import -> Auto Import Settings
In here you can select the folder where your tethered photos are stored and tell Lightroom to watch this folder for changes.

Then on Lightroom, click File -> Auto Import -> Enable Auto Import (if this is already ticked leave it)
Now when you start to take photos with Canon EOS (or whatever programme you use) it will auto import your photos immediately onto Lightroom, through a folder on the left hand side called Auto Imported Photos

Hope that helps

PS: If you're having difficulty doing what I just said feel free to PM me ;)

Yup.

I've used it with my camera connected to my netbook via usb and my iPhone connected to the netbook via WiFi. It means I don't need 15m of specialist USB cables running all over the place.

Thanks for the reply! Just noticed it's only for Canons and Nikons.. Doh!
