DSLR Sensors and Dust

I had that rectified on a separate occasion. I had the catch on my tripod fail and it fell no more than a metre, in my living room. Didn't think it would have done much but the weight of the 14-24 damaged the lens mount so had that replaced and AF realigned. £270!

Just a thought, if the sensor is damaged could you possibly claim on your house insurance?, with your last bill and possibly a new sensor, the pennies are adding up. Even your house insurance may cover the accidental damage if you don't have specific camera insurance.

As I have said before A loupe should be an essential part of a photographers kit.

I'd second this. It makes it so easy to clean the sensor - you can see whether the bits have gone or not - a lot of the time a combination of blowing and wiping with the sensorpen are required to move a particularly stubborn bit of gunk. Imagine cleaning the dishes blindfold - impossible! Putting the lens back on, taking a photo, uploading it, checking it, it such a time-consuming process that the loupe is essential. It'll pay for itself in no time through time saved and hair not pulled out!

I must say that the most useless implement, and one of the most expensive I might add, for cleaning sensors IMHO is the arctic butterfly's.

I've found it pretty decent tbh. Can't argue about the cost though, they are expensive for what they are.
