I am having difficulty looking for a sling type bag with fast removal of a camera that would adequately hold my 5D mark 2 with kit 24-105 lens along with a couple more lenses and 430Ex2 flash.

I want to get one that is compact and practical. Dont want one that is huge and heavy, small and practical is the key.

Full list of items I want to fit in are:

  1. Canon 5D mark 2 with kit 24-105 L with hood
  2. Canon 50mm 1.4
  3. Contax 28mm 2.8
  4. Contax 35-70mm 3.4 Vario Sonnar
  5. Canon 430 EXII
  6. LCDVF
  7. Couple of memory cards, spare battery, USB Cable, 2 or 3 filters, Lenspen

I have had a look at Lowepro slingshot 102AW and the Kata 3N1-11 bags. Both seem to be good but I cant tell if they will hold all this gear. To keep the size compact, I may lose a lens for carrying around but I want to ensure that the 5d2 with the kit 24-105 fits comfortably.

Anyone used these? Can you please provide some feedback on your experience?

Any other sling bags I should look out for?

THank you Hotshots and Dervish99.

Had a look at Think tank and as expected, its quite expensive. Any cheaper options come to mind? I like it though

Dervish, Had a look at the Kata 3N1 30. It seems a bit too large for my liking. I am willing to lost a lens so I can keep the size compact. Dont want to carry a huge load. I may even decide to lose the flash for carrying around. Just need to find the right balance of size vs gear.

Any other ideas?

I use the Slingshot 302AW. I made a thread about it. I have since swapped it around a bit more. I'll put up a picture in a second

EDIT: The updated arrangement is shown on the thread. Here it is with everything in my Sig inside:

I see you want to keep it compact so perhaps the 202AW would be more suitable. The 302 doesn't feel huge.

Whom, it does or doesnt?

The second statement is contradictory to the first one.

Just need as compact as possible. I was leaning towards a 202AW as well.. perhaps I can follow your lead on that.

I meant whilst the 202 would be more compact, the 302 doesn't feel huge and is still reasonably compact considering the space inside.

Why not pop into a local camera store and have a play?

I will certainly do that. Meaning to do that, might do that over lunch tomorrow.

Any other brands I should be looking out for?
