hi all,i`m off to dungeness for the day on monday.
could anyone give me some advise on what to take.

no1,iv seen loads of boat and shead photos on here, but are they around one area or do i just need to walk the beach and find them?
where should i start ??

no2,is there any nice groynes in the area to try some slow shutters speeds on?

anything else worth going to while i`m there ?

thanks all,chris.

That whole stretch is fairly desolate to be honest, but for me that's the appeal of it.
Dungeness itself has has a few boats on the beach, plus you have the old WWII sound mirrors behind the holiday camp. Camber can have some nice landscapes if you get the right weather conditions. Doubt they'll be any kite surfers out.

Plenty of groynes at Camber sands, the town of Rye has some nice bits to. There someone on here that's down Camber way a lot, can't remember who it is though.

Dungeness has some interesting subject matter, the little steam train, 2 light houses, lifeboat station, old fishing boats and shacks plus the power station.

Here are some shots I took earlier this year from Dungeness:

Camber sands is a fantastic sandy beach, has an interesting wreck that can be seen at low tide (visible from miles away).

Rye is a fantastic little place, lots of old buildings and little streets, with great views too.

Hi. Start at the pilot inn they do excellent fish n chips. There's quite a bit of walking to do on the shingle but if the light is good some good shots of the power station and other structures. There's often kite surfers farther back along the coast. The sound mirrors aren't accessible.

Hi. I thought your dungeness shots are really interesting: just shows what good light and a good sky can produce. they look a bit 'Dave Hill' with the processing, something different. Would look nice on a calendar, for instance. I'll make an effort to go back there in 2011, and pick a decent day, maybe!
