dust behind front element

packing up my 18-105 kit lens for posting as i've sold it, i noticed a spec of something behind the front element.

i've informed the purchaser and offered a full refund, but in all honesty how much would this devalue/affect a lens? would it also be elegible under warranty etc. i have 3 years 'whatever happens' cover on this. would it be worthy of sending for repair?

Its quite common, and if its just a spek you wont even see it on the final image.
