I have recently receved a secondhand lens.

The lens looks like new. however much to my surpirse when I opened up the apature I saw small dust spots sitting in between the elements of the lens, its there any way of remeding this? what sort of impact will it make on the imaging quailties of the lens?

Cheers

Stuart

Got a spec of white dust in my Canon 24-105L never seen it in any of my pictures.

If realy bad you'd need to get it serviced if not don't worry :D

I like the don't worry option!

The seller has offered to take it back, Personly I don't want to go through the hassel. Do you think it would be covered under warrenty if it was still valid?

I would leave it personally.

My 70-200mm F2.8 went in for a new front element and Fixation said it was full of sand:gag:. But up until that point you'd have never known as the shots were pin sharp, people have paid and liked the photos from it so a bit of dust is nowt to worry about :D

I've only noticed a few dust specs when looking into the front element of a lens, I've never noticed them when looking through the viewfinder.
Are you sure it's not dust on the sensor?
Specs of dust are not uncommon on some lenses and I've yet to hear of them causing IQ quality.

You will never, ever, see dust inside a lens appear on a photograph. Only in rare circumstances will there be a slightly increased amount of flare due to sunlight. But then you won't have a pristine lens with which to compare it with anyway so you'd be none the wiser.
