Dust or damage?

A couple of days ago I bought a used 5D Mark III from MPB, today was the first chance I've really had to play with it and I noticed it had a couple of dust bunnies. I got out the rocket blower and cleaned the sensor, all but 1 of the specks disappeared. The 1 that was left had a halo around it (something which I've not seen before) so I tried to clean it again.

So far I've tried the built in cleaning function, a Lenspen Sensorklear and 4 wet cleans with Eclipse and the spot still remains.

I've used an LED torch and you can see the mark on the sensor, but only from certain angles.

Opinions? Is it damaged or just a really stubborn piece of dust?

I can't imagine that it's debris after all that you've tried... Best option would be to send it to Canon or Fixation where it can be professionally analysed and repaired!

As the OP has only had it a couple of days a better option may be to send it back for a refund?

Or get MPB to do it being as they provide a 6 month warranty? I'd personally be straight on the phone to them and provide a sample image over email - not on for a £2k purchase!

It doesn't look good if you have tried repeatedly all the usual cleaning methods. Time for the phone call to MPB I would reckon.
