hey guys and girls! :)

I noticed the other day that when i was looking into the eypiece there is a tiny speck of dust that i assumed was on the lens...so i gave the lens a good wipe and its not there because i even changed lenses and the sot is still there. So i gave the eyepiece a good wipe and thats clena so its not that.
So i am guessing its is the mirror. My question is, is this something i should attemt to clean off myself or take to a dealer. And if it is something i could manage myself how would o go about it....i'm just worried about making it worse or causing damage.

Any thoughts??

it could be on the focussing screen rather than the mirror
a good blow with pocket rocket or similar should move it around

be very wary about the mirror
the silver is on the surface, not behind the glass
50% of togs say - but they're as tough as old boots,
50% of togs wouldn't touch them
(I'm in the 2nd camp btw)

HTH

It can be doen yourself. Before you invest in a sensor cleaning kit get a rocket blower (DONT blow on it yourself), that will get rid of it.

i was just thinking of popping into where i bought and see if they would 'kindly' cast an eye over and a quick blow before i think of touhcing it.....i tend to be a big clumsy clot.....ended up breaking a borrowed manfrotto tripod the other week...doh!

I second the Rocket Blower. Mine tends to shift most mirror/focusing screen dust. Not had so much luck with moving sensor dirt though!
