DVD Slideshow?

Hey guys any suggestions on what apps to use to create a dvd slideshow?

I downloaded Roxio which did a great job on about 400 images but very power hungry and I have a intel quad code 6600 cpu with 4gb ram...

I want to do a massive slideshow with around 2500ish pictures but just cant the right program to do the job... the obvious option is to get memory upgrade to 8gb if im going to do that then I would like to upgrade mobo and cpu too...

Any tips or info would be great!

2500 images. Thats one hell of a presentation !!!
I use Pro Gold Show and know a few others do, not sure what its like with that many images in it though. my Dual Core, 3GB RAM, Windows 7 PC runs it smooth as you like with 200 photos.

A note about upgrading the RAM, Windows 32bit will only see a maximum of around 3.5GB of RAM regardless of how much you install.

Have you tried resizing the pictures to DVD resolution first, that should put less strain on your computer.

Running XP PRO 64bit even with the photo resized to 800px wide roxio still seems very power hungry and theres a delay but I guess thats because of all the built in wizards...
