So watched many videos on PL 9, how good it was, better than L/R, like a headless sheep I jumped right in as a L/R user I thought OK lifetime and no subscription to pay even though I still had a year with Adobe, I didn't really give the trial version a chance and spent my money. This error reminded me of when using a Windows machine a few years back and buying On1 photo raw as the updates kept coming and new version came out every year On1 ran slower and slower and this is now what PR 9 is like so a word of warning for those who want out of Adobe make sure any software you go over to works on your machine, I have a Mac M2 16GB ram and PR 9 is like a snail where as send an image from L/R to DXO Pure Raw and back is like another world, fast, easy and great results. I wasted £100+ on PL 9 don't make the same mistake. Russ.

Oft times performance of Photolab or indeed any software can relate to the hardware specs....and perhaps more in Mac than PC the OS???

That's a shame for you, I am only using PL5 which does all I need and it sings on my iMac M1. :)

Sorry it doesn't work for you, but for many of us it's on a par with or better than LrC. When you're borderline on system specifications it's rare to have software run smoothly.

PL9 works fine here on Windows 11 with 16Gb RAM! Not that it's my favourite image processor (I find many of its aspects non-intuitive) - which is Capture One on the same machine - VERY sweet & rapid at RAW processing.

But what the sh*te? We do what we do ...

Im on DXO 8 and it runs fine on my M1 MacBook Pro and really well on a new Windows PC
Apparently DXO 9 has some AI features which require more processing power, am planning to upgrade to 10 when it is launched
