Just purchased a 2nd hand Dynax 7000i with 35-70 lens, and purchased a 70-210 sigma apo lens to go with it.

Both from a shop that was closing down.

The camera and small lens are fine, but when i fit the large zoom onto the body the camera won't even turn on.

Any ideas? The lens doesn't even look like it's been used.

Camera body should always be switched off when attaching a lens. There is the odd sigma lens model which isn't compatible with later minolta cameras.

Do the mounts look identical between the 2? Have you tried turning the AF switch to off on the body and seeing if the camera then turns on?

I have checked it on a friends sony digital camera and it works fine.

Will be putting it on ebay me thinks.
