early spring

it's the end of february in this part of the world, and it should be winter. but temperatures in NC are hovering at 50-70 and the birds are all over.

taken with a d7000 and tamron 70-300 vc

i had very little time to take these shots so i took what i could, twigs and all.

i'm not sure what kind of bird, but its blue color on white is very nice and it seems to have no problems "working" upside down!
might be a member of the "wood pecker" family.

That was my intial thought on seeing the first shot.

These sort of birds, tree creepers and nuthaches included are very hard subjects when they're working a tree
