Hey guys. I have a Canon 550D And im just wondering if its possible to copyright photos from the camera? Or an easy way to do it?

Thanks for the help

Nick

You almost certainly own the copyright already, if you took the picture. You are the author of the work, you don't have to do anything.

The only common exception is that if you are in employment (eg, employer pays income tax on your behalf is one easy test, though there may be others - as opposed to freelance) and the photos are in some way connected with your work, in which case your employer owns copyright.

Employer's rights are far more extensive than many people know, and it doesn't matter what you are technically employed to do, or where or when the images are made, eg out of office hours, off work premises etc. In answer to the question, 'would I have been able to take these pictures if I didn't have this job?' if you answer 'no' then you probably don't own copyright.

However, if you answer yes to that one, and have not formally assigned the copyright to anyone else, then they're automatically yours.

I think he meant to put his copyright information into the EXIF data, straight from camera?

There probably is a way to do that but I don't know how, sorry.

Or depending on the software you use, you can make a preset and automatically add it upon import, thats what I do with Lightroom.

Post-capture with something like Lightroom is the only way I can think of.

Though if you got very accurate at herding dust on your sensor, you could perhaps spell out your [c] notice like IBM did arranging individual atoms a few years back... :)

Yep use Eos Utility  plug your camera in remote settings, in and fill it in will be saved to your cam, then every pic will have author name and any other details read your user manual
