I have been asked to do a portrait of 4 people and think it wide to invest in a background and support. I have seen the ones on ebay for £50 are they any good? I know they wont be as good as lastolite but could I get away with it or am I better spending more? Like I said to be used to photograph 4 people in a home setting!

PS using large soft box, daylight and a large reflector for the lighting if that helps...

I'd be intrigued to know also. How do people find the quality/price of camera's and equipment from Ebay in general?

Depends what lighting your using. I bought one about 2 years ago and if I remember the background is awful material and had creases that will never come out.

It depends on what you are doing, do you have a permanent setup? I do and my garage is 9 feet wide so I used a 9 foot long metal pole from wall to wall. This takes up less space and is vastly cheaper (In fact I have a spare 9' steel pole here free to a good home !). Anyway If you can get away with it thats the way to go. You then have the material to decide on. You need to get the folds out or they will be a right pain so it must be ironable or you could consider paper. Paper works really well and contrary to popular belief you can use the same piece of paper for maybe a year, ..md.. does!

Generally good but some business sellers really try it on http://comica.co.uk/alldigital0869.htm

Private sellers are quite different and split into two camps: Those that know what they are selling and those that don't.

I bought a camera and three lenses a few weeks ago and each lens was riddled with fungus that the seller didn't see. In all fairness he did give me a full refund once I messgaed him about it.

Apologies to the OP for going off topic..

What does the fungus look like?

Thanks
