Eclipse on film.

Anyone planning to shoot the eclipse on film this evening?

Not me. I've made an eclipse pinhole viewer out of a cereal box and some foil in true Blue Peter style though. This is because I left it too late to get some proper eclipse glasses.

I did in the 1999 one but the results were unbelievably boring!

I may try the colander trick this time but don't want to strain my eyes....

Our colander has thin slots rather than little holes!

I've taken a few snaps on the point and shoot of the pleasing recurring patterns through the colander. I'm not expecting much especially as the P&S focal length is fairly long. Possibly ok-ish on a crop, but will be a while before the C41 is used up.

Thanks folks, I didn't bother in the end and just enjpyed the view through the eclipse glasses.

Was mightily relieved it didn't turn out to be the end of the world

Anyone planning to shoot the eclipse on film this evening?

Took some B/W shots through my welding glass, dunno how sharp the results would be as the glass was in a helmet and used a zoom at 210mm.......anyway excellent glass for seeing the moon in front of the sun.
