ecommend me a wideangle lens.

I'm going to be renting a wide angle lens for a week away from here

I was going to go for the 14mm efl then i realised it was read drop in filter only, which is no use to me. My next best candidate is the 10-22mm efs so i'm hoping some of you good people have this lens and can either recommend it or recommend me to avoid it and point me in the direction of a better alternative from the selection they have.

The lens will be used for landscape shots, possibly some shots of old village streets etc too if that helps.

How wide do you want to go? Do you like the fisheye effect? What body will it be on, as crop factor will play a big part in the image you will get?

I can personally recommend the Canon EFS 10-22, fantastic lens, VERY wide at 10mm and very good range. Very, very sharp as well, It uses the same grade optical elements canon use for the L series lenses.

It will be more than suitable for what you need it for!

If your on a crop sensor Canon 10-22mm or the Tamron 11-16 f2.8 if u think u need the 2.8.

I own the Canon 10-22 and Tokina 11-16 and I have full-time access to a Sigma 10-20 (upstairs in my friend's room). Out of those three the Canon is, by far, the best.

Sorry, should have said what body it'll be on, an eos 1000D.

And although i have nothing against fisheye lenses i'm not looking for one to use "all the time". I'm going up to the peak district for a week so i'll be taking lots of landscape shots, fisheye would be useful for a few no doubt but not for everything really wide. Widest lens i currently own is 18mm so the one i rent will be getting used a lot as 18mm is nowhere near wide enough when you take crop factor in to account.
