Beginner Editing software for beginners

Google's Picasa is free, designed for simplicity & ease of use, lacks complex sophisticated features, but does what it does very well. A good starter while you make up your mind just how much post processing you want to get involved with.

Yep. Best way to start. Free and simple. Many folk find it's enough.

Gimp is another free editor you might want to try ?

Photoshop a-like. Free but pretty daunting as a start point.

I think this is a good idea. Once you have tried processing you soon find out if it's for you. I think software choice is important once you decide to start shooting RAW. I think most software program's have a free trial period so it's worth trying before you buy.

+1 for picassa, simple to use, since upgrading to W10, I notice for the first time it automatically makes files smaller for more space,:)
I'm pleased to be able to confirm that my Picasa certainly doesn't do this. I'd stop using it if it did.
