EF 24-105mm "err01"

Hi all,

Just bought a used Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L which I know has a "err01" code showing apparently, anyone know why this happens or how to fix it..?

The 24-105mm lens should arrive with me tomorrow (Fri 19th). I believe Canon can fix it with a cost obviously.

It looks a common problem when you Google it and you could try cleaning the lens contacts but I would not hold your breath ,but in the real world it looks like you could be spending a few more quid to Canon for the repair and I hope you got it free or cheap.

Best of Luck anyway and it's a cracking lens I have one and love it , an ideal walk about lens.

Have you got the lens and did you get it fixed as an update would be good and curious what the error was.
 
£104 is a very good price Peter and should come back like new and all calibrated ...excellent and let us know the final outcome.

From 1st August (2013) Canon UK's fixed price of £104 for the error code "err01" EF 24-105mm f/4 L lens fault rises to £155, just to give people here the 'heads up'.
