Just had this from Canon CPS. A little harsh removing the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM from the list.

Please be informed the following products have been removed from CPS membership qualification as they are no longer serviceable.

EOS 50D

EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM

EF 400mm f/2.8L IS USM
 
I saw that too and thought the same, although the lens was first introduced in 2001; know it was still available in 2010 when the Mark II was introduced , but frightening how time flies!
 
Some places including Canon CPS might still have some parts, some rubber gaskets may be adaptable from the new lens, etc. You just have to ask on case by case basis. Worst case is to have a shop strip a cheap faulty ebay lens for spares.
 
Was gutted this morning... My EF 400mm f/2.8L IS USM off the list.. theers only one 9 thousand quid lens above this :(
