EF lenses on a 500D

Is it possible to put EF lenses on a 500D? What are the implications for control etc? Will what is seen through the lens differ from what the sensor picks up?

Nope they'll work fine, you just can't put EF-S lenses on a full frame or 1.3x crop camera.

Yep they're fine, you can use any Canon mount lens on your 500d and there is no difference in relation to what you see through the view finder.

I just fixed that for you Jim..Just in case the OP gets confused and thinks older FD mount canon lenses will fit.

well, you can get an FD to EF adaptor tho i cant think why i'd bother unless i already had a huge collection of fd glass
