Thats exactly what I did last May. The three-hour bus ride at each end is a killer though, eh? :suspect1:Mike said:Thanks Steve, dod. Our visit to Cario was a 'day trip' excursion from our Xmas holiday in Cyprus, a trip of a lifetime to see the Sphinx & Pyramids. A fantastic experience.
Our trip was by Airplane GfK, we had to be up at 5am to get the coach to Cyprus airport. We arrived back at our hotel in Pathos at 1:30 the following morning. A long day, but well worth it. Thankfully we didn't have the 3 hour bus ride to endure.... but we did have an armed escort from the airport, plus an armed policeman on each of the 3 coaches!GfK said:Thats exactly what I did last May. Which ship did you go on?
I found that wearing sunglasses (therefore no eye contact), plus complete ignorance meant that they gave up sooner. As soon as you speak, thats it. They know you can communicate and they will NOT leave you alone.Mike said:a word of warning for anyone planning the trip.... beware of the 'traders' at the Pyramids. We were harrassed as soon as we arrived there, a very firm 'NO THANKYOU' is required.
Same here. Did you go and see the mummies? They've got 11 of 'em and they charge you something like £6 to go into that section alone. Its worth a look, though.Mike said:We also had a 2 hour guided tour of Cario museum, again this was fantastic, especially being able to view all King Tutankamens treasures.
