Looks to me like you've pulled the shadows up which has washed some of the colour out. Could really do with some contrast IMO.
 
Having been to Egypt you were lucky he didn't ask for money before you took the photo.
 
Nice shot...
Personally I wouldnt go for this crop, the focus seems to be on what he's wearing rather than his face.
