Eilean Donan Castle

Thanks Harry, I decided to convert them to mono's because the weather more suited a mono version than colour

Think I rather prefer the first shot, probably because of the louring sky ... but they're all very atmospheric.

You're probably aware of this , but some people may not know that the castle was largely rebuilt in the C20th. The original was destroyed by the Royal Navy in the early C18th because of the owner's links to the Jacobite movement.

My daughter and a friend visited from South Africa when they were students. They didn't know the castle's history and were devastated that Bonnie Prince Charlie didn't come out to meet them personally! :)

Very nice Geoff and it dies look to be a lovely location. Lucky you :D

Lovely images and well done on the pp.
For me, I'd plump on No2, as I prefer the sky, composition and detail in the castle wall shadow.
I just wish the tiny bit of land extreme left, hadn't been clipped.

Thanks everyone, there's always going to some compromises in any photograph

Actually I do have an image where it hadn't been clipped.

I wasn't aware of it at the time but found out it was rebuilt between 1912/3-1932 ish
